From battle to wisdom—the Mahabharata is endless in meaning.

What’s the longest book you’ve ever read?

A good question by Big boss.

The longest book I have read is the Mahabharata by Maharishi Vyasa.

This epic of the Pandavas, Kauravas, Shrikrishna, and their famous battle is not just history—it is a creation that explains the philosophical patterns of human life. Its vastness makes it the longest book I have read.At its heart lies the battlefield dialogue between Arjuna and Shrikrishna, which became the Bhagavad Gita—a timeless guide on duty, courage, and spiritual wisdom.

The Mahābhārata recounts the events of the dynastic struggle for the throne of Hastinapura, that leads to the battle of Kurukshetra, a war of succession between princely cousins, the Kauravas and the Pāṇḍavas. The multiple stories in the Mahābhārata include the story of DamayantiShakuntalaPururava and UrvashiSavitri and SatyavanKacha and Devayani,

There is also a beautiful TV series on the Mahabharata that created records of popularity, showing how deeply it resonates across generations.

The Mahabharata is not only long in pages—it is endless in meaning.
